MEET DELBERT JACKSON
Growing up in a low-income household, I know what struggle looks like. I have seen firsthand how the affordability crisis has destroyed people and families. I am grateful to my community for the opportunities that have allowed me to become successful. Now, I’m running to ensure everyone has access to the same opportunities and to end Maryland's cost-of-living crisis.
To improve the lives of Marylanders, we cannot stop at just making Maryland more affordable. We must also protect and foster the diversity that makes Maryland special. As an LGBTQ+ candidate, I fear the increasing attacks on marginalized communities from our federal government. We need to stand up to this administration, and that means taking action to make sure Maryland is always a safe place for all people.
The truth is, Democrats have been the majority in Maryland for as long as people can remember, but voters are realizing that voting blue just isn’t enough anymore. People all over are demanding bolder Democratic leadership that represents the generation most affected by today's issues. I am running to be that leader. I am a young, progressive candidate who is determined to do whatever it takes to answer the people’s call for change.
Challenging the incumbent Democrats will be hard work, but I know they’ll have to work even harder to keep up with this campaign. To get the message out, we will knock on every door, call every voter, and meet people where they are. This campaign will not leave a single voice unheard. These efforts are how we win the election.
